Allan McIntosh, a 60-year-old Natick resident, was arrested and charged with larceny over $1,200 on Friday, March 3, town officials and police reported almost a week later.
McIntosh is accused of using town funds to buy numerous personal items, including auto parts from a store in Framingham, while working for the Brookline Department of Public Works.
McIntosh, who worked for about nine years at DPW, was put on leave for an unrelated policy violation on October 26, 2022, authorities said.
“This is a deeply disappointing violation of our community’s trust,” Town Administrator Chas Carey said. “I would like to thank Commissioner Erin Chute Gallentine and the DPW team for their immediate action upon learning of this matter, as well as the Brookline Police Department for its thorough investigation."
McIntosh was released on his own recognizance after appearing in Brookline District Court, authorities said. He is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on April 19.
